Senior Analyst – Lusophone markets
Aegis Advisory, the fast-growing London-based strategic and operational risk consultancy, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced specialist in the Lusophone countries to join us in the role of a Senior Analyst.
Role description
The senior analyst will lead the delivery of work to clients we are advising on their risk exposures in Lusophone countries, particularly Angola, Mozambique and Brazil. This will include collating and analysing open and closed source material to answer diverse client requirements that range from investigations into specific commercial matters to country-level risk assessments. Doing so will sometimes involve coaching and managing junior analysts and reviewing their work, as well as co-ordinating sub-contractors and freelancers. The senior analyst will also make a significant contribution to our business development activity throughout the Lusophone markets, identifying opportunities and developing leads to grow revenue profitably.
Required skills and experience
The successful candidate will have substantial knowledge and experience of the countries and their commercial, political, social and economic issues. The role suits a self-starter who is keen to expand upon their existing skills and can provide unbiased and extensively researched written work of a consistently high standard within deadlines. The candidate will also be commercially-minded, ideally with experience of maximising commercial returns within budgetary constraints. We will consider applications only from candidates with excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills in English, as well as a very high standard of Portuguese. Experience of working or living in a Portuguese-speaking country is highly desirable.
How to apply
Please send your CV to londonjobs@aegisworld.com by the end of 31 March 2012 London-time, along with a covering letter explaining why you are seeking to take the next step in your career with us in this role. We will reply only to those candidates that we intend to invite for an interview.
Maritime Logistics and Movements Coordinator
As Aegis start to deliver our armed transit security service, the delivery challenge is in managing the movement and associated logistics of multiple teams, their weapons and their equipment – and also the licencing requirements of those weapons and equipment. The Maritime Logistics and Movements Coordinator will draw on existing central support (travel, logistics, legal) to support delivery of the service. Ideally the person will have carried out a similar role in a Maritime Security company or will have a background in military movements. Interested applicants are invited to submit a CV and covering letter/email to londonjobs@aegisworld.com
Leaving the Military?
By its nature, the contingency contracting business has peaks and troughs. We staff the London Office with sufficient people to cope with a routine level of business. However, during peak or holiday periods, we often need to surge Plans and/or Ops Managers at short notice for 2/3 weeks. We maintain a number of consultants on our books for this purpose. We would like more.
There is no ideal candidate. We would be interested in talking to those with Formation level staff experience who are interested in building a portfolio second career or merely want to do a work place attachment as part of their Resettlement. Please send a CV and covering letter/email to londonjobs@aegisworld.com under the subject heading "London Consultants"
